“Going for Gold”

This year’s School Council has set out a mission to “reach out” into the community. Ahead of revised elections next year, this year’s council have:
- Met with Paul Waugh MP to discuss local issues.
- Raised money for Springhill Hospice through the ‘Reindeer Run’.
- Written to the Governors multiple times throughout the year to report on pupil voice.
- Made sure Pupil Voice is better included in discussions.
- Set out the foundations of a transformed, inclusive approach to attendance.
- Celebrated St. George’s Day with local dignitaries at Rochdale Town Hall.
- Fundraised for lunchtime equipment and sensory toolkits during the Christmas Fair.
- Worked with the Shades Ambassadors to better understand how to help everyone feel welcome.
- Attended School Council Network events with other School Councils to swap advice and talk about Rochdale.
- Helped celebrate Miss Robinson’s Silver Teacher of the Year Award with an assembly.
- Met with Mrs. Brown to provide crucial feedback and advice to the leadership.
- Begun to think about candidates to formally elect to the next School Council.
